Frequently Asked Questions
-
Consult calls help us determine if we will be a good fit. Studies have shown that being a good fit lead to better outcomes in therapy (even more than what the therapist is trained in). On this call I like to see how comfortable we are having a conversation, which might offer insight to if you feel safe opening up in therapy with me.
If by the end of the call one or both of us do not feel like we have fully clicked or I am not qualified to treat what you are looking for I would be happy to offer referrals to someone who might be a better fit.

I am not available after hours.
Due to the limits of my practice, I am unable to take on new clients who are going through high levels of crisis, experiencing high suicidal ideation, are engaging in high drug or alcohol use, or are needing regular check-ins and extra support between sessions.
If you are having a mental health crisis or emergency:
Call 911,
Call/Text the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988,
Or go to the nearest emergency room.
-
Sessions are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly until you reach your initial therapy goals.
Once you decide you are ready to reduce the frequency of sessions (to every three weeks or monthly), sessions will move to an "as-needed" basis. You can reach out via email, text, or book a session through my online calendar when you want a check-in session.
Research consistently demonstrates that therapy yields the most significant benefits when integrated into a client's routine on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
